Footloose 1990-2007
Legacy Lives On!
Footloose was born on June 4th, 1990 at the American Performance Horse Farm in San Diego, California.
His sire was the famous Dutch Warmblood stallion ARGUS by Pion, the only horse in the world to successfully compete at both the FEI level Dressage and Grand Prix Show Jumping.
His mother, KWPN WEIGELIA, by Elan was a champion Keur mare imported from Holland.
While only a few days old, Footloose suffered a bacterial navel infection (navel ill or joint ill) which left him crippled in both hind legs and therefore unable to realize his potential as a performance horse. When we found out this royally bred colt was for sale, Sam did not even go to California to look at him. All it took was verification for the vet that this colt would be able to cover a few mares.
Footloose was 18 months old when he was shipped up from California. Sam met him at the Canadian border only to have the customs officer take one look at him and commented " You must have bought this ugly creature in the dark!", Don't worry, we have a plan! Sam reassured him.

Footloose keeps proving himself with premium daughters and talented offspring.
With more than 50 registered Canadian Warmblood progeny, he has get competing successfully across the country, in the United States and at Spruce Meadows. Producing winning dressage horses, jumpers, hunters and eventers as well as lovely adult amatuer horses.
Out of 12 fillies so far presented at Canadian Warmblood Inspections, 5 received Premium status with three of those 1st Premium, and a pair of 2nd Premium. What makes this remarkable is that these fillies were not out of Premium Warmblood mares!
Footloose puts his stamp on his foals, passing on his great topline, movement, bone and easy trainability.
We are pleased to announce that we have one great young son of Footloose who will be continuing our breeding program. We are expecting his first foal crop spring of 2009. We will post some photos of him shortly!!
